Karen McQuoid, RVN
Karen knew from a young age she wanted to work with animals - all thanks to the James Herriot books she read growing up. She started volunteering at her local vets as a Saturday Helper, and by 1994 she was officially on her journey to becoming a Veterinary Nurse. She qualified in 1998 and hasn't looked back since!
Over the years, Karen's worked in small animal, farm, and equine pratices, and also done her fair share of night shifts in emergency and critical care. She's a true all-rounder, but especially loves theatre work, lab diagnostics, consulting, and client education.
She's completed an advanced programme in wildlife nursing (APVN Wildlife), is RECOVER trained in both basic and advanced life support, and is a trained Mental Health First Aider. Karen is also currently studying for a certificate in practice management.
Originally from West Yorkshire, Karen moved to Norfolk in 2005, where she now lives with her husband. When she's not at work, she loved wild swimming, getting creative with arts and crafts, and spending time in the garden.
